 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. MISSING COUPLE FOUND DEAD IN DECOMPOSED STATE IN ZAMBIA. (PHOTO).


Missing couple found dead, in decomposed state
POLICE have found a couple of Kasupe area in Lusaka dead and in a decomposed state, near their house after they went missing for three days.
Bwalya Chileshe aged 56 of Kasupe area in Lusaka and her husband identified as Benard Chomba aged 60 were discovered dead about 30 metres near their home.
It is suspected that the couple was murdered.
It is reported that after the couple went missing, a close relation to the victims was informed of the situation but all efforts to contact the couple were in vain as their mobile phones went unanswered.
This prompted her to report the matter to the police.
Police officers and the named informer went to the house of the two deceased persons and upon inspection, they found assorted household goods scattered in different rooms of the house.
Furthermore, the couple's silver Toyota spacio registration number ADD 5815 was missing. 
Zambia Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale disclosed, in a statement today, that the two bodies were later discovered near their house in a decomposed state. 
Police suspect foul play.
Investigations have since been instituted.
Mwale said the crime scene has since been barricaded and a pathologist has been informed to conduct the post-mortem at the crime scene.
