 ASUU–ABSU SUSPENDS THREE-WEEK-OLD INDEFINITE STRIKE The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Abia State University Branch, wishes to inform the University community, all stakeholders and the general public that, following the resolution of Congress held today, Friday, 28th August, 2026, the Branch has suspended its three-week-old comprehensive industrial action with immediate effect. The decision of Congress followed a careful assessment of developments since the commencement of the strike and, particularly, the concrete steps taken towards addressing some of the major issues that necessitated the industrial action. Foremost among these is the full implementation of the 2025 FGN–ASUU salary structure, including the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA), which has now been reflected in the August 2026 salaries of academic staff of Abia State University. UNIZIK: Prof Ikpeze Emerges Dean, Faculty Of Law

A renowned academia, and scholar in International Law and Jurisprudence, Professor Ogugua Ikpeze Ph.D., FCIARB, FICMC, has been elected as the new Dean, Faculty of Law, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK).

Prof. Ikpeze who has served under different capacities including being a former Assistant General Secretary of NBA, 2002-2004, Chairperson FIDA, Anambra State Branch, amongst many others, has many contributions in the sphere of International Law and Jurisprudence.

Prof. Ikpeze emerged unopposed as the Dean of the Faculty of Law after the Faculty Board unanimously ratified her nomination as the sole candidate for the election.

Prof Ogugua Ikpeze hails from Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra state. She is Married to Prof Okey Ikpeze, a professor of medicine and one time provost of college of medicine Of the same university.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
