 Court Jails Man Eight Years for  Impersonation in Lagos   Justice Akintayo Aluko of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Tuesday,  April 22, 2025, convicted and sentenced one Tobor Efeturi Godspower to eight years imprisonment for impersonation.   Godspower was arraigned by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a two-count charge bordering on fraudulent impersonation and possession of fraudulent documents.   One of the counts reads; “That you, Tobor Efeturi Godspower, on or about the 24th day of October, 2024 in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, fraudulently impersonated one 'Stephen Townsend', purporting to be a military man stationed in Syria, with intent to gain advantage for yourself and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 22(2)(b) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2015.   The second count reads: “That you, ...

2023: Miyetti Allah Set To Endorse Tinubu, Governor Sule

The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Fulani Sociocultural Association has announced its plans to officially endorse the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023 election. 

In a statement issued on Friday by its president, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, the association said it would also endorse Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State who is seeking second term on the platform of APC. 

The endorsement according to Bodejo would hold on December 30 at the Lafia Square by 11:00am during the association's National Peace rally. 

He invites all members of the association to attend the event themed: 'Mobilizing Fulani Pastoralists Towards Successful 2023 General Elections'.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
