A teacher of Brain Focus Academy in Nasarawa State, Pardon Longmak has reportedly been brutalized over alleged blasphemy.

Longmak was alleged to have insulted the holy prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which led to the attack by some yet-to-be residents of Sabon Gida Bakin Kogi in Lafia East, where the school is situated.

According to a Facebook user, Honey Aku, the teacher was accused of blasphemy by a female student of the school, named Basira Usman.

Narrating the incident, the proprietor of the school, Danlami Kefas, said the victim had on Monday “accousted and interrogated the female student for wearing unapproved veil (hijab).

“On hearing the interrogation, a fellow Muslim student alarmed the Muslims of the community that the victim insulted their prophet, who were riled by the unverified development and began to attack the victim despite the effort of the school's management and that of the traditional ruler of the area to allay their anger for a lasting peace,” Aku quoted the proprietor as saying.

The brutalized teacher who is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Lafia was said to have lost sight in one eye after the attack.

The unfortunate incident was said to have been reported to the Security for appropriate actions.
