 *[POLICE PRESS RELEASE]* EKITI POLICE ARREST 11 SUSPECTS OVER ATTACK ON OMOYELE SOWORE IN ADO-EKITI; INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.  The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested eleven (11) suspects in connection with the alleged attack on Mr Omoyele Sowore, an African Action Congress (AAC) presidential aspirant, and other persons at Tawakalitu Restaurant, Dalimore Area of Ado-Ekiti. Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad(RRS), based on a credible tip-off swooped on the hideouts of the suspects at Atikankan Area of Ado-Ekiti at about 10:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, where they were arrested. The suspects are: Joseph Tayo '32yrs', Olatunji Abayomi '41yrs', Isaac Amba '22yrs', Kehinde Ajigbana '18yrs', Tosin David '18yrs', Solomon Iyanu '18yrs', Ogunsola Ayomide '21yrs', Ojo Ayodeji '22yrs', Kayode Dada '32yrs', Segun Olatunji '28yrs' and Salami Emmanuel '53yrs'. Anambra Governor's Wife, Mrs Soludo Promises Full Care For 13-Year-Old Girl Abused By Guardian.

Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo has promised to ensure that the 13 year old girl who was molested and impregnated by her 75 year old guardian receives full care and attains her life's dreams.

Mrs Soludo who stated this when she received the girl and her baby at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia, explained that the girl would be given all the support she needs to raise her baby, attain standard education and become a useful asset to her family and Anambra State.

The girl is a Primary five pupil who lived with her 75 year old guardian in Awka.

It was during her stay that the septuagenarian, who is now in police net, began to sexually abuse her, which resulted to pregnancy.

Her story popped up on social media, attracting the attention of the governor's wife and the Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, both of whom collaborated for immediate action.

In her chat with the girl, Mrs Soludo flanked by the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo, assured her that she would get all the support she needs to succeed, and also noted that she would always be in touch to ensure that her baby is well taken care of.

Mrs Soludo who appreciated the Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, for being proactive on the case, re-emphasized that Anambra State is a red zone for abusers, as her husband's administration will not blink an eye in punishing offenders.

She also urged those who are going through any form of abuse to speak out, as the government is always ready to respond.

Mrs Soludo also provided cash and nursing reliefs for the upkeep of the girl and her baby.

The girl is already booked for school when the next academic session begins in January.
