 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Anambra State Government Presents Certificate of Recognition To The Traditional Ruler Of Umuomaku
 

....charges him to use the Throne and unify the Community

Today, The Governor of Anambra State Prof Chukwuma Soludo presented a Certificate of Recognition to HRH Igwe Livinus Obinna Ezenwa, Onunekwulu Ora ll of Umuomaku, as the new traditional ruler of Umuomaku Community in Orumba South L.G.A of the State. The Governor in his remarks during the event which took place at Exco Chamber Government House Awka, charged the monarch to use his position to unify the community so as to build and sustain peace in the community and beyond.

He also commended the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and community affairs, Hon. Tonycollins Nwabunwanne for his efforts towards ensuring that peace is being restored in the community and other communities in the State.

It could be recalled that, after several reconciliatory meeting to end the conflict which rocked the community in the past and kept them without a traditional for years, but with the effort of Mr Commissioner, the people of Umuomaku Community, on 24th Day of September 2022, following a Free and Fair Election Supervised by the Anambra State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, elected Chief Livinus Obinna Ezenwa as their Traditional.

The Event was graced by some personalities in the state.
