 PRESS RELEASE OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERATION FEDERAL GOVERNMENT REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO NATIONAL UNITY AND FAIR REPRESENTATION IN APPOINTMENTS The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) wishes to address recent insinuations circulating, particularly on social media, regarding the composition of Federal appointments. The Government categorically refutes claims of lopsidedness and emphasizes its unwavering commitment to the principles of fairness, equity, and national unity. All appointments are made in strict adherence to federal character principle, as enshrined in Section 14 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as Altered). ASWAMA Fixes Fresh Date For December Sanitation Exercise In Anambra.



The Anambra State Waste Management Authority, ASWAMA, has said that this month's sanitation exercise will now hold on Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 7am to 10am, in order to prepare the state's environment for the christmas and year festivities.

According to a release signed by the Managing Director of ASWAMA, Mr Mike Ozoemena, all residents of Anambra are encouraged to participate fully in the exercise by cleaning their surroundings and desillting all water channels.

The statement noted that all forms of human or vehicular movements are prohibited within the hours of the exercise as offenders will be apprehended and sanctioned accordingly.

It further reminded Ndi Anambra of the state government's policy on door to door collection of refuse and enjoined everyone to neatly bag their wastes and leave them in front of their homes for adequate disposal by the state waste management body.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
