 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. SUNDAY MUOGHALU ACCEPTS HIS CRIME, SAYS HE IMPREGNATED THE 13 YEAR OLD  MOTHER.

The alleged suspect Sunday Muoghalu, who resides at Agu oye Umudioka Awka says he is responsible for putting the 13 year old girl in family way.

The 75 year old suspect stated this in an interview in Awka when he was asked the reason behind such action.

In his defense he said that he was only playing with the young girl and never intended to impregnate her.

This is coming after he was arrested last night by the Nigeria Police Force with the help of the honorable commissioner for women and social welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo.

Recall that over the weekend, a video of a 13 year old girl who was impregnated by her guardian went viral on the internet which prompted a swift response from the Women and social welfare boss.

The emergency response saw to the rescue of the girl and arrest of the suspect.

The young mother is currently in a safe place as the suspect will be arraigned in court for prosecution.
