 71-year-old landlord arrested for impregnating tenant’s teenage daughter The Ogun State Police Command said it had arrested a septuagenarian landlord, identified simply as Adesina, for allegedly defiling and impregnating his tenant’s 14-year-old girl (name withheld) at Akegbeyale Street in Ifesowapo Akute, Ifo Local Government Area of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt that the residents and other tenants were thrown into a state of shock when the septuagenarian suspect was found on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, having sexual intercourse with the 14-year-old girl at about 10:15 pm in the house bathroom. The minor, according to a police source who was part of the team that arrested the 71-year-old suspect but was not permitted to speak for the command, was said to have made her way to the apartment’s bathroom to take a shower. Gov. Abiodun appoints 5 new permanent secretaries 

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has approved the appointment of five new permanent secretaries in the state civil service.

A statement issued in Abeokuta on Friday by Kunle Somorin, the Governor's Chief Press Secretary, said the new appointees would fill the existing vacancies in the public service.

Somorin noted that seniority, merit, professionalism and inclusiveness were considered in appointing the new permanent secretaries.

The governor relied on the provision of Section 208 (c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

The Permanent Secretaries are:

1. Engr. Sakirudeen Ayinde Salaam

2. Mr. Adesoji Augustus Adewuyi

3. Mr. Hammed Morakinyo Ojo

4. Mr. Adesina Mufutau Towolawi

5. Dr (Mrs) Olayinka Nike Elemide

While congratulating the new appointees, Governor Abiodun urges them to brace up for the challenges of their positions and apply themselves diligently to the “Building Our Future Together” Agenda of the Administration.

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours.
