 *[POLICE PRESS RELEASE]* EKITI POLICE ARREST 11 SUSPECTS OVER ATTACK ON OMOYELE SOWORE IN ADO-EKITI; INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.  The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested eleven (11) suspects in connection with the alleged attack on Mr Omoyele Sowore, an African Action Congress (AAC) presidential aspirant, and other persons at Tawakalitu Restaurant, Dalimore Area of Ado-Ekiti. Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad(RRS), based on a credible tip-off swooped on the hideouts of the suspects at Atikankan Area of Ado-Ekiti at about 10:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, where they were arrested. The suspects are: Joseph Tayo '32yrs', Olatunji Abayomi '41yrs', Isaac Amba '22yrs', Kehinde Ajigbana '18yrs', Tosin David '18yrs', Solomon Iyanu '18yrs', Ogunsola Ayomide '21yrs', Ojo Ayodeji '22yrs', Kayode Dada '32yrs', Segun Olatunji '28yrs' and Salami Emmanuel '53yrs'. GOV. UZODIMMA EMPOWERS 25,000 IMO STATE VULNERABLE PERSONS


In a bid to expand and deepen the Shared Prosperity Agenda, the Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has matched words with action with the empowerment of 25,000 poor and vulnerable Imo citizens through a conditional cash transfer. 

Governor Uzodimma in his address at Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square, Owerri, disclosed that the conditional cash transfer is not for payback but a grant for their upkeep to help stimulate the state's economy against the impacts of Covid 19 and banditry.

According to the Governor, "assisting the poor and vulnerable in our society is also at the core of the shared prosperity agenda of this administration. We are poised to deliver Imo State from hardship and poverty".

The empowerment of the 25,000 Imolites was made under the IMO CARES PROGRAM which is an offshoot of the Federal Government NG-CARES program. 

The conditional cash transfer will be given in 2 tranches, this month December and next month.
