 Military judge suppresses Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s FBI confession in 9/11 case A military judge has excluded a confession that alleged Sept. 11 attacks mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed gave to FBI agents nearly 20 years ago, ruling that the statements were not made voluntarily. The decision is a setback for the U.S. government's long-running effort to prosecute Mohammed, who is accused of helping develop the plot to hijack planes and crash them into the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Mohammed remains detained at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, alongside other defendants awaiting trial. Lt. Col. Michael Schrama, the judge overseeing the case, scheduled a June 2028 trial for Mohammed and three other defendants earlier this week. In an order issued Friday that has not been made public, Schrama barred prosecutors from using statements Mohammed made during four days of FBI questioning at Guantanamo in January 2007. GOV. UZODIMMA EMPOWERS 25,000 IMO STATE VULNERABLE PERSONS


In a bid to expand and deepen the Shared Prosperity Agenda, the Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has matched words with action with the empowerment of 25,000 poor and vulnerable Imo citizens through a conditional cash transfer. 

Governor Uzodimma in his address at Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square, Owerri, disclosed that the conditional cash transfer is not for payback but a grant for their upkeep to help stimulate the state's economy against the impacts of Covid 19 and banditry.

According to the Governor, "assisting the poor and vulnerable in our society is also at the core of the shared prosperity agenda of this administration. We are poised to deliver Imo State from hardship and poverty".

The empowerment of the 25,000 Imolites was made under the IMO CARES PROGRAM which is an offshoot of the Federal Government NG-CARES program. 

The conditional cash transfer will be given in 2 tranches, this month December and next month.
