 GOVERNOR ABBA  YUSUF SACKS  KANO STATE HEAD OF SERVICE   The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment with immediate effect. In a statement  by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the decision is part of the ongoing efforts by the present administration to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery across all government institutions. Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions and dedication to the service of the State  The statement further directed that Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary, Admin and General Services at the Cabinet Office, to serve in an  acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service. Kaduna Teachers To Protest On Monday Over Unpaid Salary

The newly recruited secondary teachers by Kaduna state government are set to stage a peaceful protest on Monday 12th December 2022.

According to them, the protest is as a result of the seven months salaries they are owed by the state government under Governor Nasiru El-Rufai.

Recall that the teachers were handed letters of offer of provisional appointments on 19th July, 2021.

According to them, they had to wait until 17th May, 2022 before they were deployed. Since their deployment, the government has not paid them their salaries despite the high cost of living the country is currently facing, they said. 

They are calling on all the teachers concerned to converge at the state secretariat, ministry of education on Monday 12th December, 2022 to demand for justice for their unpaid seven months salaries.

Over four thousand newly recruited teachers are expected to take part in the protest, they said.
