 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room. NBA Onitsha Wraps Up 2022 Law Week



The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Onitsha Branch has wrapped up its 2022 Law Week with a thanksgiving mass at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha 

The 2022 Law week with the theme: The Nigerian Lawyer: Overcoming Challenges To Successful Legal Practice in Fast Changing Socio-Political Economy, kicked off on Wednesday 6th December 2022 with activities such as Prison Visit, Football Competition, Lectures, Visit to the Sick and Elderly Lawyers, Cocktail and Dinner Night among others.

Addressing the Lawyers at the Sir Loius Mbanefo Bar Centre, High Court Premises Onitsha, the Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu charged them to make integrity their watch word in the profession.

Speaking to the ABS in an interview, the Branch Chairman, Mazi Uba. and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr Onyechi Ononye while appreciating God for a successful Bar Week., said one of the issues discussed was how to improve the legal system.

They pointed out that the number of Senior Advocates produced from the Branch this year is a clear testimony of the robust nature of Legal practice, East of the Niger.
