 *[POLICE PRESS RELEASE]* EKITI POLICE ARREST 11 SUSPECTS OVER ATTACK ON OMOYELE SOWORE IN ADO-EKITI; INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.  The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested eleven (11) suspects in connection with the alleged attack on Mr Omoyele Sowore, an African Action Congress (AAC) presidential aspirant, and other persons at Tawakalitu Restaurant, Dalimore Area of Ado-Ekiti. Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad(RRS), based on a credible tip-off swooped on the hideouts of the suspects at Atikankan Area of Ado-Ekiti at about 10:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, where they were arrested. The suspects are: Joseph Tayo '32yrs', Olatunji Abayomi '41yrs', Isaac Amba '22yrs', Kehinde Ajigbana '18yrs', Tosin David '18yrs', Solomon Iyanu '18yrs', Ogunsola Ayomide '21yrs', Ojo Ayodeji '22yrs', Kayode Dada '32yrs', Segun Olatunji '28yrs' and Salami Emmanuel '53yrs'. President Bazum decorates Gov. Buni with National Honour Award

His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe state Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, was today decorated with a Niger Republic National Honour in Niamey.

Decorating the Governor with the Honour of 'Commandeur dans l'ordre du merite du Niger', President Mohamed Bazum, said the Honour was in recognition of Governor Buni's contribution to bilateral, economic and social relationship between Nigeria and Niger Republic. 

Bazum said the award has placed Governor Buni in a position of an ambassador who will strengthen relationship between the two countries.

Governor Buni said he is encouraged to do more by the National Honour awarded to him.

"This National Honour awarded to me, will spur me to do more in the interests of the two countries.

"Yobe state shares international borders with Niger Republic, therefore, we will strengthen peace and peaceful coexistence, and economic prosperity among the border communities of the two countries" Gov. Buni said.

Governor Buni is receiving the second National Honours award this year after Nigeria's Commander of the Order of the Niger CON, in October.

The governor was accompanied to Niger Republic by the President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, members of the national and state legislature, the state executive Council, political associates, and thousands of well wishers across the country.
