 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS MINISTER OF STATE FOR PETROLEUM RESOURCES (GAS) AS CO-CHAIRMAN OF NCDMB GOVERNING COUNCIL In line with his avowed commitment to establish a more efficient, targeted, and consistent approval process for unique oil and gas projects in the country, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), as the Co-Chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB). This is also to further ensure effective oversight of the gas aspect of the nation's assets. The President remains committed to unlocking Nigeria's immense gas potential to stimulate industrial development, job creation, and sustainable economic growth. The Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi and the Party's Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central, Senator Victor Umeh have joined friends and well-wishers of the former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo in felicitating with him on his 70th Birthday Celebration. 

The very colorful Event which started with Thanksgiving Mass at St. Mulumba Catholic Church, New Heaven, Enugu, presided by the Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga and concelebrated by a team of Bishops and Priests subsequently turned into glintz and glamour, a gathering of the creme de la creme at the Oakland Event Center, Enugu where guests were treated lavishly; dancing and cheering the Celebrant. 

Senator Victor Umeh in a remark congratulated the new septuagenarian, Chief Nnia Nwodo and extolled him for his remarkable impacts in the Leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and towards achieving a better progressive Igboland. He described Chief Nwodo as a true patriotic Citizen who has contributed immensely in promoting the advocacy for justice, peace and unity in Nigeria. The OBI-dient Senator further prayed for many more happy years and good health of mind and body for the Celebrant. 

Among the notable persons who graced the Event were the Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, the Chairman of South East Traditional Rulers Council and Obi of Onitsha, HRM Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, the Leader of Pan-Yoruba Socio-Cultural Group —Afenifere, Pa Ayo Odebanjo and the Leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide led by the National Vice President, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene among numerous others.

He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
