 Kwara Govt donates 150 off-road motorcycles to Nigerian Army •LGAs acquire 320 motorcycles to boost vigilantes' security operations  In a bid to further strengthen security operations and maintain peace across Kwara State, His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led Kwara State Government has donated 150 off-road motorcycles to the Nigerian Army. The motorcycles are expected to enhance troops' mobility and effectiveness, particularly in rugged terrains such as forests, where non-state actors may be hiding with intent to destabilise the peaceful atmosphere of the state. THE POLICE AND MILITARY AGENCIES ARE READY AND THERE WILL BE ELECTION IN IMO STATE - GOV. UZODIMMA 


The Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has commended the bravery of the Nigerian Police force and other sister agencies for foiling the attack at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Owerri.

Addressing journalists at the Nigerian Police Force Command, Owerri, Governor Hope Uzodimma reiterated that he will provide a safe environment for Ndi Imo to exercise their right in voting.

While disclosing that investigations are ongoing, the Governor charged the Police authority and other security agencies to be swift and prudent in unravelling details behind this attack.

In a related development, he commend the joint security team in the State for their prompt response and success in rescuing the Craneburge Staff who were abducted from the construction site, along the Owerri-Okigwe road, on 9th December 2022. 

He said that Imolites want to progress and the Shared Prosperity Government is committed to moving Imo State forward. 

"The contractors are working for the good of everyone and the list expected of all is hospitality and not hostility". Governor Uzodimma said. 

The Governor reassured Ndi Imo that the security network and intelligence across the State have been beefed up to guarantee the safety of Ndi Imo throughout this season and beyond.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
