 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. University Vice Chancellor dies suddenly in Lagos


The Vice-Chancellor of Achievers University, Owo, Professor Samuel Aje, is dead.

The Vice-Chancellor was said to have travelled to Lagos for Christmas break last week Friday and passed on in the early hours of Thursday.

The cause of Aje’s death who assumed as the institution’s Vice-Chancellor in June 2020, was still unknown at the time of filing this report.

Confirming the death, the Head of Media and Protocols of the university, Mr Adebayo Olagunju, said the institution awaits the cause of the VC’s death.

He described the sudden death of Prof. Aje as “sad and unfortunate” and said the whole university community was shocked when the news first broke out.

“The family would soon issue further details on the incident,” Olagunju stated.

A senior lecturer in the school, on condition of anonymity, also said the death of the Vice Chancellor was shocking and devastating.

“We were very shocked when we heard the news of his death. There was no sign of sickness on him before the Christmas break and we are yet to know the real cause of his death,” he said.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
