 New Head of Service Urges Anambra Civil Servants to Embrace Efficiency and Accountability ‎ ‎By Chizoba Njaka  ‎ ‎The newly appointed Head of Service in Anambra State, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, has called on civil servants to shift towards efficiency and accountability, promising improvements in welfare.  ‎ ‎Addressing staff at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex in Awka, Iwouno outlined her vision for a professional, merit-based, and citizen-centered service that aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's goals. ‎ ‎Iwouno emphasized that her mission is not just a statement, but a call to action, demanding sincerity and commitment from all workers. University Vice Chancellor dies suddenly in Lagos


The Vice-Chancellor of Achievers University, Owo, Professor Samuel Aje, is dead.

The Vice-Chancellor was said to have travelled to Lagos for Christmas break last week Friday and passed on in the early hours of Thursday.

The cause of Aje’s death who assumed as the institution’s Vice-Chancellor in June 2020, was still unknown at the time of filing this report.

Confirming the death, the Head of Media and Protocols of the university, Mr Adebayo Olagunju, said the institution awaits the cause of the VC’s death.

He described the sudden death of Prof. Aje as “sad and unfortunate” and said the whole university community was shocked when the news first broke out.

“The family would soon issue further details on the incident,” Olagunju stated.

A senior lecturer in the school, on condition of anonymity, also said the death of the Vice Chancellor was shocking and devastating.

“We were very shocked when we heard the news of his death. There was no sign of sickness on him before the Christmas break and we are yet to know the real cause of his death,” he said.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
