 ZIMBABWEAN COUPLE DEPORTED OVER SECRET BURIAL OF CHILD IN BOTSWANA A Zimbabwean couple has been deported from Botswana after secretly burying their child without notifying authorities. Motilinah Mpofu and Christopher Ncube were convicted on Thursday of concealing a death after they allegedly dug a grave for their child in the dead of night. The Gaborone court heard the child had died suddenly. Instead of reporting the death to police, health officials, or traditional leaders, the couple quietly buried the youngster and hoped no one would find out. But the secret did not stay buried for long.   Police moved in and arrested the pair. In sentencing, the court ordered that the couple be taken to the Plumtree Border Post for deportation to Zimbabwe.  Top Botswana lawyer Winnie Masitha who offered the couple free legal representation during the trial, confirmed the deportation to BTV News. Theatre Commander Charges Frontline Troops
 Pays Ops visit to 26TF Bde AOR

As part of the measures taken to assess troops' combat readiness and boosting their morale in the ongoing Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency Operations, the Theatre Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Christopher Musa today, 17 December 2022, continued with his operational visit to frontline troops of 26 Task Force Brigade (Bde), Gwoza. 

Upon arrival at the Bde Headquarters, the Theatre Commander was received and briefed by the Brigade Commander, Brig Gen DR Dantani. Thereafter, the Theatre Commander proceeded to 192 Bn Headquarters were he inspected ongoing projects and facilities. He equally visited troops location at FOB Rann and 3 Bn (Main), Gamboru. 

During the visits, the TC addressed troops on various issues including current security situation, admin issues and ongoing operations in the Theatre. Furthermore, Maj Gen Musa assured them of the unrelenting efforts of the Theatre predicated on the directives of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen F Yahaya that all troops who have served in the Theatre for two years should be adequately rotated. 

While relaying the commendations of the CDS, Gen Leo Irabor and Service Chiefs, he also urged troops to remain disciplined and committed to neutralizing the marauding remnants of BHT/ISWAP terrorists hibernating within the NE region and the fringes of Lake Chad. Maj Gen Musa in his words said, "we have only one work which is to neutralize terrorists; sustain the momentum and continue to make the NA proud by neutralizing all terrorists you came in contact with.

In the entourage of the Theatre Commander is the Theatre Logistics Component Commanders, Brig Gen EH Akpan; the Theatre Intelligence Coordinator, Col OM Azuikpe; Commander NA UAV COMD, Col I Sule and the Ch J1, Col UG Okodaso.
