  INEC rejects petition to recall Senator Natasha, declares it inadequate The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rejected the petition to recall the Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has not met the requirements. In a short statement on Thursday, the electoral commission said the petition to recall Senator Natasha did not meet constitutional requirements. “The petition for the recall of the Senator representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District has not met the requirement of Section 69(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended),” INEC wrote on its X handle. ARREST OF A SUSPECT FOR ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF LOCALLY-MADE PISTOL AND RECOVERY OF PUMP-ACTION FIREARM


In furtherance to the directives of the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba psc (+), NPM, NEAPS, fdc, CFR in regards to the proliferation of prohibited firearms in the country. 

  

Consequently, operatives attached to Toro Divisional Police headquarters, while on routine patrol near Nabardo village arrested Umar Abubakar ‘m’ 21yrs of Gamawa LGA.

The suspect acquires a locally made pistol revolver from his friend Mohammed ‘m’ of Nasarawa state at the cost of twenty-five thousand nairas (N25,000.00), alongside three (3) live 7.62mm ammunition.

However, the suspect also confessed to have purchased the firearm two years ago, and he fired one piece of ammunition while chasing cattle rustlers in Mangu LGA of Plateau State. 


The suspect further confessed to have handed over the firearm to his friend to get him an interested buyer, as the firearm is of no use to him at the moment.

As investigation furthered, two suspects were so far apprehended for criminal conspiracy and concealment of an illegal firearm connected to the case.


In a related development, Sequel to the ongoing operation around the Alkaleri axis, operatives attached to Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters, acted on intelligence information and raided a criminal’s hideout situated at Kashereyel Hill near Gwana district of Alkaleri LGA. During the raid, one English Pump-Action gun was recovered.


The Command sustained its operations which in recent days recorded a tremendous success by denying miscreants a breathing space to carry out their nefarious activities. 


CP CALLS ON PARENTS/GUARDIANS TO PREVAIL ON THEIR WARDS AND PROTEGES AGAINST BIENG USED AS CANNON-FODDERS, AS THE COMMAND ARRESTED SOME THUGS(SARA SUKA) FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, DISTURBANCE OF PUBLIC PEACE, AND ARMED ROBBERY.


On 15/01/2023 at about 1800hrs following intelligence information at the Command disposal revealed that some restive youths known as ('Yan Sara Suka) came out in massive numbers from different wards of Bauchi metro which include; Unguwar Kur, Bakaro, Karofi, Yakubu Wanka, Kwanar Kwaila, and Unguwar Doya respectively, converged and invaded Kobi Street Bauchi armed with dangerous weapons unleashing terror on innocent citizens and looting shops. On receiving the information, a team of detectives attached to Area Command Metro swiftly swung into action and successfully arrested six suspected notorious thugs (‘Yan Sara-Suka) terrorizing Bauchi Metropolitan namely; 

Sani Mohammed ‘m’ aged 27yrs of Unguwar Kur 

Suleiman Mohammed ‘m’ aged 19yrs,

Imrana Abbas ‘m’ aged 19yrs of Dutsen Tanshi 

Ibrahim Muhammed ‘m’ aged 18yrs, 

Hassan Alhassan ‘m’ aged 18yrs

Babangida Salisu ‘m’ aged 20yrs all of Anguwar Kur and Dutsen

Tanshi respectively.


Recovery of Stolen items includes;

Four (4) Handset Phone 

A cash Sum of seventeen thousand nairas (N17,000) was recovered from the suspects. 

Exhibits recovered from the Suspects include; 

Two (2) matches 

Three (3) Knives. 

An effort has been intensified to arrest their fleeing accomplices. 


ARREST OF SUSPECTS FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY,  CONCEALMENT OF PROPERTY SUSPECTED TO BE STOLEN


On 13th January 2023 at about 1420hrs, Command detectives acted on a piece of credible information and arrested one Abdul Mohammed alias P. A 'm' of Karofi Bauchi town, Bauchi State in possession of one TOYOTA COROLLA LE with registration number NSR-510TY, ash in color, suspected to be stolen property. 


On interrogation, the suspect confessed to have received the vehicle from one Haruna second name not yet known 'm' of Biu, Biu LGA, Borno State, now at large for onward delivery to one Ibrahim Babaji 30yrs 'm' of Misau town, Misau LGA, Bauchi State who was also been arrested and thereafter confessed to have bought the vehicle from one Barau Alim Tela 'm' of the same address, also at large, investigation is ongoing. 

An effort has been intensified to arrest the remaining suspects who are at large.


The Commissioner of Police Bauchi State Command CP Aminu Alhassan psc (+), while commending the Command operatives for the success recorded, assured that all criminal elements will be smoked out of their hiding places and would answer to their crimes in due course.
