 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Dubai Police wins First Place in UAE Open Para-Taekwondo Poomsae Championship
 
The Dubai Police, represented by the People of Determination Empowerment Council, has ranked first at the UAE Open Taekwondo Poomsae Championship 2022, which took place at Fujairah Martial Arts Club.
 
Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Acting Director of the General Department of Community Happiness, confirmed that this achievement comes per the directions of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, to operationalise the National Policy to Empower People of Determination and realise the government objective "My Community, A Place for Everyone", aiming to give the opportunity they deserve to shine among athletes.
 
Captain Abdullah Hamad Al Shamsi, Chairman of the People of Determination Empowerment Council, pointed out that the Council is keen on participating in sports competitions and engaging the employees and their offspring of determination to strengthen the Force's contribution in making Dubai friendly for people of determination.
 
"This achievement reflects the Dubai Police's eagerness to offer support and care to cultivate people of determination talents and integrate them into the society," he added.
 
Meanwhile, Expert Abdul Quddus Muhammad Ishaq, Head of the Dubai Police Team, praised the outstanding achievement of the Force's team, which showed tremendous efforts exerted by the team to win first place.  
 
It is worth noting that Dubai Police has surpassed Dubai Club for People of Determination and Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) that ranked second and third consecutively.
