 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. El-Rufai Commends NAF For Improved Security In Kaduna

Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State has commended the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for its efforts in restoration of relative peace in the state.  

Speaking yesterday  when he paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao in his office at Headquarters NAF, Abuja, El-Rufai expressed gratitude of the people of Kaduna State to the CAS for improved security situation in the state.

In a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI) Air Cdre Wap Maigida,  the governor disclosed that in the last three months, there had been a significant improvement in the security situation in the state, as several  terrorists’ commanders have been neutralized by the NAF while the remnants have relocated from the state.

“On behalf of the government and people of Kaduna State, I came to thank the Chief of the Air Staff, Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding, officers and men of the Nigerian Air Force for the excellent work done and still being done in Kaduna State. The security situation in our state and environs has improved drastically. Please keep up the excellent work,” he said.

In his response, Air Marshal Amao thanked the governor for the visit as well as the support and cooperation the NAF has been receiving from the government and people of Kaduna State in tackling the security challenges in the entire North West region.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
