OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. IMO STATE GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

This is to inform the good people of Imo State and the general public that the second edition of Governor Hope Uzodimma's live phone-in programme will be held on Wednesday, January 4th at the Government House, Owerri. 

The programme is a novel initiative of the state government wherein all the private and public radio stations in the state are connected live through a mobile radio station. The three-hour programme enables Imo people to call by phone and ask His Excellency, Sen Hope Uzodimma, the state Governor, any question in any area about the governance of the state.
. The programme will be streamed live online on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.

 Imo people in the state, in Nigeria or anywhere in the world are free to call in on the following numbers: 08105366239, 08162973458, 09054696746.

Also, special interest groups such as student unions, market associations road Transport workers, the Nigerian Bar Association, the Nigerian Medical Association, Human rights groups, labour unions etc have been invited to sit in and also field questions with the Governor.

The Programme will start at 5 pm, Nigerian time.
 
Once, again, His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma, through this unique and novel initiative, is demonstrating that his government is open, transparent and truly accountable to the people. 

Imo people are encouraged to tune in to any radio station of their choice to participate and ask their governor those questions that agitate their minds, as the governor will be willing and ready to provide the answers.

The time and date again are Wednesday 4th January 2023 from 5 pm.
