 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  Gunmen open fire at Anambra residents, kill four

Four persons, including a woman,.were on Tuesday killed by hoodlums in Eziani in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The yet-to-be-identified deceased lost their lives during an indiscriminate shooting by the miscreants armed with Ak47.

The Nation gathered that the hoodlums immediately took to their heels, leaving the deceased in the pool of their blood.

Confirming the incident, Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga said the unidentified lifeless bodies were recovered during Police/military operations in the area.

He said the bodies have been deposited in the morgue.

He said: “Police/military operations have been intensified in Ihiala and its neighboring town as operatives responded to a distress call in the early hours of today 10/1/2023 at Nzomiwu Street, Eziani, Ihiala, recovered yet unidentified lifeless bodies, three males and one female at the scene.

“Preliminary information reveals that the criminal elements armed with Ak47, started shooting indiscriminately and unprovoked. 

“Unfortunately, bullets hit four unarmed civil populace. The bodies have been deposited in the morgue.”
