  BENUE STATE POLICE COMMAND  PRESS RELEASE  18TH APRIL ,2025   SANKERA ATTACK: POLICE ACTION On  17/4/2025  at about 2100hrs, information was received that a large number of  suspected militia had invaded  Sankera axis of Benue state with intention to attack communities around Gbagir, Ukum Local Government Area.  Upon receipt of this report, the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Police command, CP. Steve H. Yabanet FCID, psc (+)  ordered tactical teams to move to the area and join forces with police officers on ground and other security agencies to forestall the attack.  Following this order, a team of officers moved to the area and engaged them. This is to inform students of Lagos State indigenes in tertiary institutions across the country that applied for the year 2021/2022 academic session Bursary and Local Scholarship Awards that oral interview has been scheduled for Monday, 23rd ā€“ Tuesday, 31st January, 2023.

The interview dates for the awards are scheduled as follows.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. ā€œThe Appellant was set up.
