 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. Police disperse suspected kidnappers,  Rescue thirty kidnap victims from kidnappers den

On 12/1/2023, information was received that suspected kidnappers were sighted at Sardauna Forest of Toto LGA , Nasarawa State where they held victims hostage.
In reaction to the unwholesome development, a joint operation was carried out by operatives of the Command in collaboration with Miyetti Allah Vigilante Group of Toto Local Government Area.

The kidnappers were however trailed to 
their enclave at Sardauna Forest; on sighting the operatives, the criminals dispersed in disarray deep into the forest.
Consequently, thirty (30) kidnapped victims comprising of 20 males and 10 females were rescued unhurt and taken to the hospital for medical examination and  shall be reunited with their family after debriefing. 

The Commissioner of Police has ordered continuous combing of the Forest and applauded the courageous effort of the  police operatives and Miyetti Allah Vigilante Group for a job well done. He further assured members of the public that the operation will be sustained inorder to sanitise the general area of suspected Criminals.
