Aguleri Diocese: Creation, a plus For Grassroot Evangelization.

By Michael Ezenwata

A former Chancellor of the Awka Catholic diocese Very Reverend Monsignor John Paul Nzomiwu has described the creation of the Aguleri diocese by Pope Francis as a catalyst for grassroot evangelization.

In a press statement in Awka while reacting to the creation of the diocese, Monsignor Nzomiwu said the gesture will occasion the spread of the gospel in the hard to reach areas in the diocese.

The cleric felicitated with the new bishop of the diocese Most Reverend Dr.Dennis Isizor who until his appointment, was the auxiliary bishop of the Onitsha Catholic Archdiocese.

He described Most Reverend Isizor as a scholar who worked with Francis Cardinal Arinze in Rome.
The cleric believed in his ability to move the new diocese to the next level.

Monsignor Nzomiwu commended Pope Francis for his passion for Nigeria through the legendary appointment of His Eminence Peter Okpaleke as Cardinal, and the creation of Ekwulobia, Katsina Alla, Wukari and Aguleri dioceses.

He called for the expansion of the church in Nigeria through the creation of the Adazi diocese and carving out of another diocese from the Onitsha Archdiocese. MOI
