The Government categorically refutes claims of lopsidedness and emphasizes its unwavering commitment to the principles of fairness, equity, and national unity. All appointments are made in strict adherence to federal character principle, as enshrined in Section 14 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as Altered). GOVERNOR HOPE UZODIMMA MOVES TO PARTNER WITH INTERNATIONAL MANUFACTURERS FOR SANITY IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY



His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has tendered a proposal for partnership with international manufacturers in the pharmaceutical industry for the restoration of sanity in the sector within Imo State.


The Governor, who made the call during an interactive session with a team of medical practitioners from Austria who have been on a free medical mission in the State for days now, explained that the partnership is to curb the proliferation of illicit and substandard drugs in the State.


The leader of the team, Rev. Fr. Dr Emeka Emeakaraoha, assured the Governor of a review to his appeal for the exercise to be carried out twice a year, in view of spreading the mission across the State.


Once more, the Governor commended the team for their humanitarian service to the people and prayed for God's grace upon them in all their endeavours.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
