 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. GOVERNOR HOPE UZODIMMA MOVES TO PARTNER WITH INTERNATIONAL MANUFACTURERS FOR SANITY IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY



His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has tendered a proposal for partnership with international manufacturers in the pharmaceutical industry for the restoration of sanity in the sector within Imo State.


The Governor, who made the call during an interactive session with a team of medical practitioners from Austria who have been on a free medical mission in the State for days now, explained that the partnership is to curb the proliferation of illicit and substandard drugs in the State.


The leader of the team, Rev. Fr. Dr Emeka Emeakaraoha, assured the Governor of a review to his appeal for the exercise to be carried out twice a year, in view of spreading the mission across the State.


Once more, the Governor commended the team for their humanitarian service to the people and prayed for God's grace upon them in all their endeavours.
