  The Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Rivers State Police Command, demanding a public apology for the assault on five journalists during a peaceful protest in Port Harcourt. Failure to comply, the union warned, would result in a statewide media blackout. In a statement jointly signed by Council Chairman Comrade Paul Bazia and Secretary Dr. Ijeoma Tubosia, the NUJ condemned the police actions as “unprovoked, barbaric, and inhuman,” calling for the immediate identification and prosecution of the officers involved. “The NUJ, as a watchdog of society, will not sit idly by while media practitioners are subjected to barbarism and brutality. KIDNAPPED CHILDREN FROM AKWA-IBOM AND RIVERS STATE,RESCUED BY THE ANAMBRA STATE POLICE. (PHOTOS).#PRESS RELEASE.

Anambra State Police Command today 17/2/2023 calls on the public especially residents of Abia, Akwa-Ibom and Rivers State to help us identify these children, for a possible reunion with their parents. They are David Frang Male Age 8yrs, Sarah Frang female age 3yrs and Chibuchi Sunday male age 7yrs were recovered from individual suspects who are already in custody. 


Given the confessions of the suspects, the children were taken away from their parents in the respective states mentioned above and brought to Anambra State. Therefore, anyone who knows the parents of these children should inform them to come to Anambra State Police Command with proof, while the Police command shall do the necessary checks before handing them over.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
