 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. LNSA SET TO COLLABOTATE WITH WASHINGTON MET POLICE DEPT.



The Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency is working to create a partnership with the Washington DC metropolitan Police Department.


This was disclosed by the General Manager of the Agency, Prince Dr Ifalade Oyekan while speaking after a courtesy call on him in his office by a Nigerian born senior Officer of the Washington Metropolitan Police Department.


The Nigeria born Officer, Mr Akintunde Akinrotimi at the meeting said, the LNSA has created a new and enviable pathway in community policing in Nigeria if not Africa. He expressed surprise at the level of technology and know how deployed by the Agency in it's operations.


He commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for keeping with the vision of a greater Lagos as enshrined in his THEMES Agenda, especially with the level attained by the Safety and security agencies in the State while rating the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency very high.


He commended the General Manager for translating the vision of the Governor into a reality that can be copied by other states in the country and beyond.


Akinrotimi further said a working relationship between the LNSA and the Met Police will be highly beneficial to both parties and hope it will come through.


Prince Oyekan expressed delight at the idea of a partnership with one of the world's foremost departments, saying the aim of the Agency is to maintain the best global practices in its service delivery.


Ifalade said, " the vision of Mr Governor for Lagos is clear in all sectors of the State's life and we can't fail in the dream to make Lagos safer and more secured for every resident and visitor."


The General Manager said he is excited with the idea of exchange programs that will enable the officers of the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency interact both physically and virtually with their counterparts from across the Pacific Ocean in an arrangement that will be mutually beneficial to their work and 

equipment.


The discussion is expected to continue pending the approval of Mr Babajide 

Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State.
