 MISSING KANSHIO LADY REAPPEARS, FAMILY RAISES ALARM OVER CONFLICTING STORIES  11th January, 2026      The family of a young woman earlier reported missing in Kanshio, Makurdi, Benue State, has raised fresh concerns after she contacted them to say she was not missing and had travelled to Port Harcourt for work. A family source told Benue Info-pedia, that the woman reached out a day after alerts about her disappearance circulated on social media, urging relatives to stop searching for her and to discontinue further posts about the matter. However, the explanation has triggered suspicion within the family, following what they described as inconsistent details surrounding her movements. According to the source, the woman had travelled to Gboko during the Christmas period to stay with her elder sister, where she reportedly met a man and began interacting with him. LP Candidate, Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu wins Awka North and South House of Representatives election*


Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu of Labour Party has been elected as Honourable Member-Elect to represent the good people of Awka North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Announcing the results at the Independence National Electoral Commission's (INEC) local government area office at Amawbia, Anambra State, the Returning Officer, Dr. Uche Nnyagu, said out of  59,978 accredited voters, Prof. Orogbu polled a total of 34,713 votes to beat the All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate (APGA) candidate, Hon. Obi Nwankwo, who came 2nd with a total of 24,814 votes. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Mr. Emeka Igwe came third with 12,850 votes, among other candidates who contested the February 25 National Assembly election.

Other parties that participated in the election include Accord party that scored (624), ADC (108), APC (856), NNPP (244), NRM (33), SDP (43), YPP (2042) and ZLP (171) votes.
