 I Don’t Wish It On You – Genevieve Nnaji Knocks Trolls Age-shaming Her Veteran Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji has responded to social media trolls who made age-shaming comments about her. According to Naija News, a user on X reacted to Genevieve's post on April 3, 2025, stating that she couldn't escape aging and was getting older. The comment read, “You really cannot cheat nature. My fine wine is finally growing old.” In her reply, Genevieve pointed out that things could be worse; she could age significantly and eventually die if she were fortunate. She wrote, “It gets worse, bro. I’ll get so old I’ll die. If I’m lucky.” Another troll referred to her as “mummy,” suggesting she was old, but Genevieve quickly dismissed the comment, saying she wouldn’t wish old age on him. LP Candidate, Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu wins Awka North and South House of Representatives election*


Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu of Labour Party has been elected as Honourable Member-Elect to represent the good people of Awka North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Announcing the results at the Independence National Electoral Commission's (INEC) local government area office at Amawbia, Anambra State, the Returning Officer, Dr. Uche Nnyagu, said out of  59,978 accredited voters, Prof. Orogbu polled a total of 34,713 votes to beat the All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate (APGA) candidate, Hon. Obi Nwankwo, who came 2nd with a total of 24,814 votes. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Mr. Emeka Igwe came third with 12,850 votes, among other candidates who contested the February 25 National Assembly election.

Other parties that participated in the election include Accord party that scored (624), ADC (108), APC (856), NNPP (244), NRM (33), SDP (43), YPP (2042) and ZLP (171) votes.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
