 OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS TERRORIST INFILTRATION, DISRUPTS LOGISTICS NETWORKS, ARRESTS COLLABORATORS The Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) has recorded significant operational successes in its ongoing counterterrorism and counterinsurgency campaign across the North-East. Through a combination of offensive operations, intelligence-led actions, and collaboration with local security stakeholders, troops successfully foiled a terrorist infiltration attempt and disrupted terrorist logistics and support networks, further degrading the operational capabilities of insurgent groups in the Theatre. Man Convicted In Makurdi for Airtime Fraud

The Makurdi Zonal Command of the EFCC on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, secured the conviction and sentencing of one Akende Gbande Mark before Justice N.I.Afolabi of the Federal High Court, sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State on one count charge of fraud.  

Mark, sometime between July and September, 2020 in Makurdi, Benue State with intent to defraud did transfer airtime in the aggregate sum of N211,300 from Access Bank Account No. 3024934975 belonging to one Danjuma Bello to his Airtel line No. 08166413766 using an unauthorized access device and thereby committed an offence.

 The defendant pleaded 'guilty' to the charge. Upon his plea, the prosecution counsel, M. Yusuf prayed the Court to convict and sentence him as charged. 

Justice Afolabi convicted and sentenced Gbande to pay a fine of N150,000 (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) with a warning to desist from any criminal act forthwith. Failure to pay will cause him to serve a prison term of four months.
