 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment. Man Convicted In Makurdi for Airtime Fraud

The Makurdi Zonal Command of the EFCC on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, secured the conviction and sentencing of one Akende Gbande Mark before Justice N.I.Afolabi of the Federal High Court, sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State on one count charge of fraud.  

Mark, sometime between July and September, 2020 in Makurdi, Benue State with intent to defraud did transfer airtime in the aggregate sum of N211,300 from Access Bank Account No. 3024934975 belonging to one Danjuma Bello to his Airtel line No. 08166413766 using an unauthorized access device and thereby committed an offence.

 The defendant pleaded 'guilty' to the charge. Upon his plea, the prosecution counsel, M. Yusuf prayed the Court to convict and sentence him as charged. 

Justice Afolabi convicted and sentenced Gbande to pay a fine of N150,000 (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) with a warning to desist from any criminal act forthwith. Failure to pay will cause him to serve a prison term of four months.
