 BAMIDELE OLUMILUA UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND TECHNLOGY, IKERE-EKITI RE-A VIRAL VIDEO OF BULLYING OF A FEMALE STUDENT IN BOUESTI It has come to our attention that a disturbing incident involving some  students of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI) has surfaced on social media platforms. A video showing one Miss Opemiposi Precious BOLAJI, an 18 year old 100L Mass Communication student beating her colleague identified as Miss Gloria AJAYI, a 100L Mass Communication student, in a private hostel outside the University campus has gone viral. In accordance with our institution's policies and extant regulations, the students who were captured in the viral video, appeared  before the Students' Disciplinary Committee at its emergency meeting held on Monday, May 6, 2024 for interrogations and appropriate recommendations, the report of which has been submitted to the University authorities. MID-TERM BREAK HOLDS BETWEEN FEBRUARY 24 – MARCH 3 – LASG.(PHOTO).#PRESS RELEASE.

The Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), Ministry of Education, has reminded stakeholders in the education sector that the mid-term break for the 2nd Term of the 2022/2023 Academic Session will hold from Friday, 24th February – Friday, 3rd March 2023.

A statement signed by the Director-General, Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), Mrs. Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, added that this is in line with the Harmonized Academic Calendar for 2022/2023 Session amended and approved by the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo.

While noting that the announcement is subject to further directives from the Federal and State Governments Seriki-Ayeni maintained that compliance is mandatory for all schools below the tertiary level in the State.


The Director-General also implored school administrators, proprietors and parents to follow the Lagos State Government’s social media handles as well as OEQA website via www.oeqalagos.com for more information and the latest development.

 Punish my abusers within 48 hours or face lawsuit - Student bullied by her classmates threaten school authorities The bullied student of British Lead International School, Miss. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her. Namtira said if the school authorities fail to sanction the student bullies within 48 hours of the receipt of the letter, she would seek immediate and severe legal redress against the school.
