 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  NSUK: Fire Engulfs Some Rooms At Old Boys Hostel

A fire incident has consumed seven rooms located on the first floor of the old boys hostel at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK). 


According to the Hall Administrator of the hostel Mr. Ibrahim Bala Mohammed, the fire which started around 2:30 am on Tuesday 7th February 2023 was quickly contained with the swift response of the University security and the University Fire Service. 


“Sadly, the inferno consumed rooms 65, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 73 and their adjoining conveniences.


“Luckily no life was lost in the incident as all the students resident in the hostel were requested to vacate their rooms immediately after the second-semester examination”, Bala added. 


Management of the University has already commenced investigations to ascertain the immediate and remote causes of the incident to forestall such an occurrence in the future.
