  INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE: NIGERIA'S FIRST LADY OLUREMI TINUBU ADVOCATES EDUCATION & FAMILY SUPPORT TO FIGHT THE MENACE  Nigeria's First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu says prevention, through education, awareness, family support and community engagement, remains one of the most effective tools in addressing substance abuse and criminal networks. In her message marking 2026 International Day Against Drug Abuse,  with the theme "The evidence is clear: Invest in prevention.  StopOrganizedCrime." The First Lady also reiterates her call on governments, families, schools, faith-based organizations and the civil society to strengthen their collective commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive environments where every child and young person can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the society by sustaining advocacy, care, and support systems.

Rivers Police Confirms Arrest Of Federal Lawmaker Over Alleged Money Laundering, Worth $498,100

Police Officers from Rivers State Command deployed to INEC Headquarters Aba Road today 24/2/2023 at about 0245hrs, while on stop and search, arrested one Hon Chinyere Igwe, member House of Representatives representing Port Harcourt II Federal Constituency with a cash sum of 498,100 USD inside a bag in his car.

Also recovered was a list for distribution of the money.

The AIG Election, AIG Abutu Yaro fdc , has ordered swift interrogation and arraignment in court.

The Command urges all contestants and political parties to comply strictly with provisions of the Electoral Act and other relevant laws.
