 A driver lost his life, while another sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between two articulated trucks on the R40 road in Shatale near Bushbuckridge early this morning (Friday, April 4). According to Moeti Mmusi, spokesperson for the Department of Safety, Security, and Liaison, the accident occurred just after 04:00 when the two trucks, traveling in opposite directions, collided. He further stated that bad weather and reckless driving cannot be ruled out as possible causes of the crash.

"The currency redesign is not peculiar to Nigeria. It is an exercise that comes with some inconvenience and pain but it has significant longterm economic and social benefits. Even though there are improvements that can be made, I urge Nigerians to bear with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Government with the hope that the general populace and Nigeria will harvest the gains that will come with the reforms.


We equally implore the CBN and the banks to expedite efforts to make the new currency available to small depositors and the unbanked in order to reduce the pains of my fellow Nigerians, especially the underprivileged and those living far away from banks in the rural areas.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha.
