 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. TURKISH BASKETBALL PLAYER NILAY AYDOGAN FOUND DEAD UNDER THE RUBBLE SHIELDING HER GRANDMOTHER/BURIED TODAY.(VIDEO/PHOTOS).#RIP.


Turkish basketball player Nilay Aydogan found dead among the rubble following devastating earthquake that has killed more than 33,000 across the region. 

Aydogan, 30, who played for Turkish Super League side Cankaya University, had reportedly gone to visit her grandmother in Malayta when the devastating earthquake struck, collapsing the apartment block.

The basketball player and her grandmother were found dead among the rubble, with the search continuing in hundreds of Turkish and northern Syrian settlements to try and find people still alive.
Aydogan had played for a number of teams across her career in Turkey, including Osmaniye, Yalova and Mersin in the Turkish second division.
Aydogan is the latest athlete in Turkey to have lost their life in the tragic natural disaster to hit the country last week.
The search goes on for Christian Atsu, the Hatayspor player, who went missing following the earthquake last week.


Mixed reporting from a number of outlets last week, stemming from statements being released saying he had been found and was in hospital, led to some people to believe he had been found. That turned out to not be the case.

They know where the building is, and they're trying their best to rescue everybody. They know that there are people still under the rubble, but the problem is that they don't have the equipment necessary to get them out,' the player's partner told the BBC.

 Many of you have been following the story of Nilay Aydogan, A Turkish player who is close to many WNBA players including being a teammate of Shavonte Zellous, TY Harris and Queen Egbo and whom remained trapped under debris since the horrible devastation in Turkey. Many have reached out to ask several times about her. Unfortunately, a short time ago Nilay was found shielding her Grandmother, essentially trying to protect had and both have passed away. Prayers and love go out to her family and friends during this horrible time.
