 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. Dreaded cultist ‘Cross and Die’ arrested in Rivers Community

A suspected cultist has been arrested by the Police for terrorising residents in Egbeda Community, in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.


Africa Update gathered that the cultist, identified simply as ‘Cross and Die’, was arrested on Wednesday by operatives of the Rivers State Police Command following credible intelligence and had been detained at the Egbeda Police Division.


Speaking on the incident, the President of Ubimini Youth Council, Ikechukwu Wordu, who confirmed the arrest of the cultist, urged members of the community to remain calm.


Wordu said, “He ‘Cross and Die’ is in the custody of the Egbeda Divisional Police Headquarters. I am calling on the Inspector-General of Police, state Commissioner of Police, to make sure they interrogate him very well.


“Let him provide the pump action gun and he will also mention the names of members of his gang in my community. My advice is that the youth should remain calm and nobody should cause any disturbance again in the community.”
