 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. Dreaded cultist ‘Cross and Die’ arrested in Rivers Community

A suspected cultist has been arrested by the Police for terrorising residents in Egbeda Community, in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.


Africa Update gathered that the cultist, identified simply as ‘Cross and Die’, was arrested on Wednesday by operatives of the Rivers State Police Command following credible intelligence and had been detained at the Egbeda Police Division.


Speaking on the incident, the President of Ubimini Youth Council, Ikechukwu Wordu, who confirmed the arrest of the cultist, urged members of the community to remain calm.


Wordu said, “He ‘Cross and Die’ is in the custody of the Egbeda Divisional Police Headquarters. I am calling on the Inspector-General of Police, state Commissioner of Police, to make sure they interrogate him very well.


“Let him provide the pump action gun and he will also mention the names of members of his gang in my community. My advice is that the youth should remain calm and nobody should cause any disturbance again in the community.”
