 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room. Soludo Congratulates Tinubu, Reiterates Call For Kanu’s Release


The governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, has congratulated Bola Tinubu on his emergence as the president-elect following the conclusion of the 2023 elections.


In a statement he personally signed on Tuesday, the governor also congratulated Tinubu’s closest opponents for their courageous and impressive outing.


Soludo, who had in the past called for the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, also appealed to Tinubu to release the Biafran agitator immediately after inauguration.


Let me also congratulate the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his election. We congratulate your closest opponents for their courageous and impressive outing.


 Nigeria needs healing and restructuring, and the fundamental challenges of insecurity and the economy remain humongous.


We pledge to collaborate and partner with you and the Federal Government for the development of Anambra state and Nigeria.


 This is the only country that we call ours and we must make it work. One critical issue that we must draw your urgent attention is the issue of systemic insecurity in the South East.
