 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

Gunmen Kill 2 NSCDC Personnel In Imo

Two personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Imo State have been allegedly killed by gunmen in the early hours of today Monday 28 March 2023.

Information available indicates that the gunmen ambushed and killed the Operatives while driving through the EkeIsu market in Obiangwu Community, Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of the state.

The incident has been confirmed by the Imo State Command of the NSCDC.

According to Channels Television, the state spokesman for the corps, Chimeziri Noel, said as part of the primary assignment and mandate of the agency, the officers were on routine monitoring of some critical national assets and infrastructure in the area when the incident occurred.

Noel said the NSCDC officers were attacked and killed by bandits in the early hours of Monday, adding that their bodies had been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre in Owerri.

The spokesman noted that security has been beefed up in the area.

According to him, while an investigation has kicked off into the unfortunate incident, the command with the assistance of other security agencies has activated a search party to go after the hoodlums.
