 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. Gunmen Kill 2 NSCDC Personnel In Imo

Two personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Imo State have been allegedly killed by gunmen in the early hours of today Monday 28 March 2023.

Information available indicates that the gunmen ambushed and killed the Operatives while driving through the EkeIsu market in Obiangwu Community, Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of the state.

The incident has been confirmed by the Imo State Command of the NSCDC.

According to Channels Television, the state spokesman for the corps, Chimeziri Noel, said as part of the primary assignment and mandate of the agency, the officers were on routine monitoring of some critical national assets and infrastructure in the area when the incident occurred.

Noel said the NSCDC officers were attacked and killed by bandits in the early hours of Monday, adding that their bodies had been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre in Owerri.

The spokesman noted that security has been beefed up in the area.

According to him, while an investigation has kicked off into the unfortunate incident, the command with the assistance of other security agencies has activated a search party to go after the hoodlums.
