 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. India Wins Two Oscars at 95th Academy Awards

The song that has made 1.4 billion Indians at home and abroad dance to its electrifying beats has won an Oscar for the Best Original Song. India bagged another golden statuette for the Best Documentary Short Film that is “The Elephant Whisperers”. The world’s second most populous nation was waiting for these golden moments with a bated breath.

Both the movies – Rajamouli directorial “RRR” and “The Elephant Whisperers” directed by Kartiki Gonsalves were globally released by Netflix. The ‘Oscar’ win of The Elephant Whisperers directed and produced by women is a belated Women’s Day gift to Indian women worldwide. Interestingly, “The Elephant Whisperers” is Tamil Nadu-born Kartiki’s directorial debut that tells a poignant tale of the bond between an indigenous couple and an orphaned baby elephant.

The Oscar for the Best Original Song is very special to India, as the ‘Naatu Naatu’ song is the first Indian production to have bagged the most coveted award.
I have watched RRR on Netflix and I can tell you it is one of the most pre colonial movies I have ever watched.
