 UK approves sweeping law to ban cigarette sales for future generations  The United Kingdom has taken a major step toward eliminating smoking among future generations after lawmakers approved sweeping legislation that bans the sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products to anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 2009. The measure, one of the most aggressive anti-tobacco efforts globally, ensures that today’s children will never be legally sold cigarettes. It also outlaws the sale and supply of herbal smoking products and cigarette papers to the same age group, while introducing a nationwide ban on snus, an oral tobacco product. The law establishes strict enforcement measures, including fines for retailers who fail to verify ages and harsher penalties for repeat violations, with courts given the authority to suspend businesses from selling tobacco or vaping products for up to a year. POLICE IN BAUCHI NEUTRALIZED KIDNAPPERS, RESCUED A VICTIM ETC.(PHOTOS).#PRESS RELEASE.

CRIME BULLETIN 

The operatives attached to the command made it impossible for kidnappers; Rescue the victim, Two neutralize, and a firearm was retrieved.

The Bauchi state Police Command in its unrelenting commitment to ensuring the security of lives and property in the state has neutralized two kidnappers who attempted to kidnap the victim. 

 On the 3rd March 2023 credible intelligence revealed to the command that, On the same date at about 0100hrs some unknown gunmen invaded the residence of Alhaji Abdulhamid Muhammad at Rafin Cora village via Ningi LGA in an attempt to kidnap his son, One Usman Abdulhamid, age 28yrs.

However, in the process, the victim resisted being taken away by the kidnappers. 

The victim was shot multiple times in his lower abdomen While making an effort to escape.

On receipt of the information, the police operatives jointly with a local vigilante group led by DPO ningi swiftly mobilized to the scene to counter the kidnappers from accomplishing their mission in the village. The kidnappers welcomed police operatives with sporadic gunshots. 

While responding, the Operatives engaged them in a gun duel which forced them to scamper in disarray with possible gunshot wounds.

Consequently, two of the kidnappers met his Waterloo at the spot, while one AK47 was retrieved during the encounter.

The victim was rescued and immediately taken to the federal medical center birnin kudu for treatment. 

 Furthermore, concerted efforts have been intensified in a bid to follow their trail and arrest the fleeing suspects to face the full wrath of the law.
