 New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. I wish Andy Burnham every success. Because we need a Prime Minister and a Government focused on fixing the public’s priorities,” she said. Lagos guber election: Rhodes-Vivour loses polling unit to Sanwo-Olu

The Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos state, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has lost his polling unit to the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress. Results collated by INEC staff, Rhodes-Vivour polled 18 votes while Sanwo-Olu won with 29 votes.PDP's Olajide Adeniran popularly known as Jandor, polled two votes.

In the House of Assembly election at the polling unit, the APC polled 34, LP 15, while PDP polled one vote.
