 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. UniPort Senate Approves Outstanding Degree Results

The Senate of the University of Port Harcourt has approved outstanding Degree Results for the 2018-2019, 2019-2020, and 2020-2021 Academic Sessions. Also approved were Outstanding Degree Results from the 2018 to 2021 Academic Sessions.

A breakdown of the approved Results showed a total of sixty-four-degree Results for Full Time, Part Time and Sandwich from the various Faculties of the University.

The approved outstanding results are from the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, Faculty of Science, School of Science Laboratory Faculty of Education, Engineering, Management Sciences, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Law, and the College of Health Sciences.

This approval followed the decisions of the Senate at its 471st Meeting held on Wednesday, 29th March 2023.

Addressing Senate, the Chairman and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Owunari Georgewill disclosed that the welfare of students must be given top priority in the affairs of his administration. The Chairman enjoined members of the Senate to key into the vision of the present administration.
