 GOVERNOR ABBA  YUSUF SACKS  KANO STATE HEAD OF SERVICE   The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment with immediate effect. In a statement  by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the decision is part of the ongoing efforts by the present administration to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery across all government institutions. Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions and dedication to the service of the State  The statement further directed that Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary, Admin and General Services at the Cabinet Office, to serve in an  acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service. 2023 Election: Ex-UK Ambassador Makes U-Turn, Expresses Disappointment With INEC

Contrary to her earlier position, the former British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ms. Catriona Laing, has expressed disappointment with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the recently concluded 2023 general elections.


Ms. Laing made the assertion in a short video clip that’s currently trending on social media.


The video is a deviation from her previous statement in which she gave the conduct of the election passmark and told Nigerians to be proud of the outcome.


In the latest video clip, Laing retracted her opinion and expresses disappointment with INEC and reiterated her government’s threat to slam visa ban and/or other punitive measures on electoral offenders.


After the backlash public outcry, she seemed to have walked back her condescending and hasty endorsement of the election which has been adjudged by both local and international observers as poorly executed.
