 FG MOVES TO CUT EDUCATION COSTS, PROMOTE SUSTAINABILITY WITH REUSABLE TEXTBOOK POLICY The Federal Government of Nigeria has unveiled a comprehensive policy framework aimed at reducing the cost of education for parents, improving learning outcomes, and promoting sustainability in schools through the adoption of reusable, high-quality textbooks and strengthened quality assurance mechanisms. The policy, jointly issued by the Honourable Minister of Education  Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa and the Honourable Minister of State for Education Prof Suiwaba Sai'd, forms part of ongoing reforms to reposition Nigeria’s education sector and ease the financial burden on families. TC Chairman Restates Commitment to Halt Businesses on Water Ways

The Transition Committee Chairman (TCC), Idemili North LGA, Chuksbrown Igboanua has admonished traders and shop owners to desist from doing business on top of drainage systems.

Igboanua restated his commitment and cautioned residents in Idemili North to stop such unwholesome act, reminding them that defaulters would have their wares confiscated.

He made the assertion at Afor Nkpor Market during the Operation Clean, Green and Sustainable Anambra, aimed at opening up blocked drainage systems across the council area.

Igboanua with his team comprising of TC Councilors led by Deputy Chairman Chike Chikezie, HLGA, HPM, HOD Works, HOD Environmental, Health officers, Security Agents moved round Nkpor junction toward Obosi Road axis, New Market Road Nkpor, Nkwelle Ogidi axis of Old Awka Road near Oye-Olisa Market to sensitize people.

Note that Gov. Charles Soludo had kicked off the clearing up of blocked water ways in Onitsha where he called on Ndi Anambra to ensure their environment is always clean with gutters free from debris. (MOI)
