During a press conference on Wednesday, NUP Chairman Rev. Oluremi Johnson lamented failed attempts to engage state officials, stating: “We’ve called, written letters, but they keep avoiding us.” Vice Chairman Rev. Dr. Titus Gregory Aderemi decried the poor welfare of retirees, many of whom survive on as little as N5,000 monthly, despite years of service. The union has threatened further action if their demands are not met, urging the government to respect its senior citizens.
