 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration. Female Company Executive Jailed 3 Years for N4m Forex Scam


The Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 27, 2023, secured the conviction of one Fatima Suleiman before Justice J.O. Onwuegbuzie of the FCT High Court, Apo-Abuja.


Suleiman, 56 and Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Jamilma Multilinks Logistics Services Limited, was convicted on a one count charge that bordered on dishonestly converting the sum of N4, 000,000 (Four Million Naira) which was given to  her for conversion  to United States of American Dollars by one Chigozie Ezeagu.


She had pleaded not guilty upon arraignment leading to her full trial.


Justice Onwuegbuzie found the defendant guilty of the charge preferred against her, convicted and sentenced her to three years imprisonment without an option of fine. The convict is also to pay the the sum of N3, 000,000 (Three Million Naira) in restitution to Ezeagu.
