 GOVERNOR ABBA  YUSUF SACKS  KANO STATE HEAD OF SERVICE   The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment with immediate effect. In a statement  by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the decision is part of the ongoing efforts by the present administration to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery across all government institutions. Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions and dedication to the service of the State  The statement further directed that Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary, Admin and General Services at the Cabinet Office, to serve in an  acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service. FG is committed to ensuring food security— Ministry  

The federal government, has reiterated its's commitment to boost agricultural production, to ensure food security .

The minister of water resources, Engineer Sulaiman Hussaini Adamu, made the indication during the launching  of the N14 billion Gari irrigation project.

According to him, the dam situated between Kano and Jigawa states, would assist irrigation farmers in Dambatta, Makoda, Gari, Kazaure and Roni local government areas.

Engineer Hussaini Adamu said, the Dam, would serve over two thousand hecters of irrigation land, 44kg bug  canals, 6 tanks and feeder roads.

Also speaking, the managing director  Hadejia/Jama'are river basin authority, Alhaji Mahmud  Da'u Aliyu, described the irrigation site  as a catalyst to creating jobs, and boosting agricultural production.

He charged farmers to make judicous use of the facilities.

The team also  visited Kadawa in Garun/malam local government area kano, to flag off a hybrid seeds center, where farmers in Kano and other  neighbouring states, would benefit from maize, rice, sesame seeds among others.
