 Putin woos African leaders at showcase summit, says Russia is better partner than 'colonial' West President Vladimir Putin told African leaders ​on Wednesday that Russia was their best partner, accusing what he cast as a colonial West of still trying ‌to exploit the continent's resources and using debt to hold back development, Reuters reported. The Kremlin chief was speaking at the third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow, a two-day event attended by African leaders and government delegations from 48 countries, during which he will hold one-on-one talks with many of the 22 individual African leaders ​attending on everything from trade to security, arms deals and grain supplies. GOV HOPE UZODIMMA EMERGES IMO APC GOVERNORSHIP STANDARD BEARER

~ PROMISES TO TAKE THE STATE TO ANOTHER LEVEL OF DEVELOPMENT.

Imo State Governor, Sen Hope Uzodimma has emerged the winner of the all progressive congress (APC) governorship primary to contest the November 11 governorship election.

In his remarks, Gov Hope Uzodimma expressed gratitude to imo APC faithfuls for the confidence reposed on him to be the standard bearer of the party for the November 11 governorship election in imo State.

He said " democracy is about the people and the people must decide who would govern them.

Speaking further, Gov Hope Uzodimma assured  that his second term would be about the infrastructure, security and welfare of imo people .

"We will consolidate on our achievements so far, welfare of Imo people, road infrastructures, security and prosperity of the state shall continue to be my priority , said Gov Hope Uzodimma
