 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. Soludo Closes School, Fires Teacher Over Exam Malpractices

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has closed down the Tower Primary School, Oba over alleged involvement in examination malpractices during the 2023 Transition Placement Examination. 


The Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh announced the school’s closure after a meeting to investigate the case of examination misconduct reported against a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) teacher, Precious Chibuzo, who invigilated the exam at the Umuogali Community Primary School, Oba.


According to a statement by Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Nnaemeka Egwuonwu, investigation carried out by the Ministry following reports from pupils of Triumphant Cross School Oba, revealed that Proprietress of the Tower Academy Oba, Kosisochukwu Igwe connived with the students in the misconduct.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
