 Kwara Govt donates 150 off-road motorcycles to Nigerian Army •LGAs acquire 320 motorcycles to boost vigilantes' security operations  In a bid to further strengthen security operations and maintain peace across Kwara State, His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led Kwara State Government has donated 150 off-road motorcycles to the Nigerian Army. The motorcycles are expected to enhance troops' mobility and effectiveness, particularly in rugged terrains such as forests, where non-state actors may be hiding with intent to destabilise the peaceful atmosphere of the state.  Impostor Bags Four Years Jail Term for UN Job Scam


The Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Hadiza Suleiman today April 4, 2023, convicted and sentenced one Ahmad Sultan Sardauna to four years imprisonment for offences bordering on conspiracy and forgery.


Sultan was arraigned by the Commission alongside one Emmanuel Tunde sometime in November 2022.for forging documents in an attempt to defraud a Somali to the tune of $4,661 under the guise of securing job for him at the United Nations.


Upon arraignment, Emmanuel pleaded guilty and was convicted by the court.


Sultan on the other hand, pleaded not guilty thereby forcing the case to proceed to trial.


However, when the matter came up for trial today, Sultan summersaulted,  and pleaded guilty  to the charges against him.


In view of his latest plea, prosecution counsel, Musa Isah asked the court to convict him accordingly.


Counsel representing the defendant Husaini Makari pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy in sentencing the defendant.


Consequently, Justice Suleiman sentenced the defendant to 2years imprisonment on each of the two counts without option of fine.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
